This blog is my response to The Joy Dare by Ann Voskamp, author of the book "One Thousand Gifts". Every day (hopefully) I will be recording three things that bring me joy, three gifts from God, three things that I am grateful for.

the soft and comfy cushions of the couch. Great for napping and lounging, for whiling away a rainy Sunday evening.

light at the end of the tunnel. News received today that my church has called a new teaching pastor and he accepted.
light in the eyes of our refugee family whenever I stop by to visit.
light God shines on my path so that I need not fear what is ahead. simple math: the rate of joy return is always greater than time and energy expended.
it's what I was made for, a spiritual gift given to enrich not only the lives of those I serve, but my own as well as the church body.

the hole in my heart after learning of a major issue with a friend's son, one who I love and have prayed for many years. The gift the knowledge that my God is a miracle worker.He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. Job 9:10
a whole evening of laughter and fellowship with a wonderful group of Christian women.
