This blog is my response to The Joy Dare by Ann Voskamp, author of the book "One Thousand Gifts". Every day (hopefully) I will be recording three things that bring me joy, three gifts from God, three things that I am grateful for.
its irresistible draw to children and adults alike
the unfathomable mystery that its grains are outnumbered by God's thought: How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. Psalm 139:17-18
shelter. Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most Highwill rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
harmony. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16
access. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Ephesians 2:17-18
the stone wall at the water's edge, beauty and purpose both
the promise of a fresh start. To
the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will
also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it,

the pits of the sweet cherries, generously gifted by a cottage neighbor
it is then I am strong. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I
delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in

cleansing. Christ loved the church and gave himself up for herto make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word. Ephesians 5:25-26
refreshing. You gave abundant showers, O God;you refreshed your weary inheritance. Psalm 68:9
new life. Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37b-38
the very fact that it IS a gift. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
