This blog is my response to The Joy Dare by Ann Voskamp, author of the book "One Thousand Gifts". Every day (hopefully) I will be recording three things that bring me joy, three gifts from God, three things that I am grateful for.
honored. "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me." John 12:26
first. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35
equipped. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
lavish love. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1
comfort. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,who
comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any
trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
grace + peace. Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:2
a picture of what true love is. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
instructions for marriage. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21
an invitation to love. if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us..1 John 4:12
access. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, ...let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14, 16
completion. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,and in Him you have been made complete. Colossians 2:9-10a
protection. We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. 1 John 5:18
