Welcome!

This blog is my response to The Joy Dare by Ann Voskamp, author of the book "One Thousand Gifts". Every day (hopefully) I will be recording three things that bring me joy, three gifts from God, three things that I am grateful for.

July 2, 2012: For the Love of Reading

3 gifts read:
  • This in my morning devotions: But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.  Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.  For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.  Psalm 5:11-12
  • These words of encouragement from a fellow church secretary: I also remember the parable of the prodigal son. The son had to get to a pig sty before he recognized his need to repent. So the deeper he gets in trouble the closer he is to coming to the end of himself. So I may be weird, but the worse my children get, the closer I know they are to coming back to Jesus! So it is a time of rejoicing!
  • this quote: When we step out boldly and confidently, enthusiasm usually shows up, too.  And when enthusiasm is at the party, fear doesn't have room to dance. From One Thing That Will Help You Shine Today by Kristen Strong.
